A visit to Nepal usually begins with a stay in Kathmandu. Not only can you spend time exploring Durbar Square, but there are numerous shrines and temples that you’ll find within the city as well. It is also a chance to prepare for a trekking adventure that can range for 3 days to over 30 days.
The Annapurna Circuit is one of the best ways to experience the best of what Nepal offers. The total length of this trekking route can be up to 230km, depending on how you plan the journey. At its highest location, at Thorong La, the Circuit reaches an altitude of 5416m. You’ll see the peaks of the Himalayas glimmering in the sun, enjoy the warmth of local tea houses, and experience local culture in a way that other destinations cannot offer.
The Mount Everest Base Camp trek is another popular option for adventurers to enjoy while visiting Nepal. The Solukhubu region comes alive on this journey, making it a magnificent experience. Many treks have recommended times for safety, usually from March-May and September-December.
Whether you decide to go solo or you hire a guide, the beauty of Nepal is waiting to be seen. Once this culture grabs your heart, many find that a return trip cannot happen fast enough.
