There’s also a longer hike which takes you to the top of the falls – this is a strenuous hike so be prepared and suited best to the seasoned adventurers.

Yosemite Valley has several famous cliffs, mountains and rock formations adventurers can explore. Half Dome, one of the most recognisable cliffs in Yosemite –the western face of the cliff is made of Plutonic granite! Rock climbers gravitate towards El Capitan towers; it’s 7, 569 ft – you can watch many climbers attempt the climb. Glacier Point gives visitors a spectacular bird’s eye view of the valley – a must see experience.

It’s not just mountains and cliffs though, Yosemite wildlife is fascinating to watch in its natural habitat. Bears are a regular occurrence in the park but still need to be protected. You may be lucky to spot a number of bears: black, brown, blonde, cinnamon or even white bears. The most common bear you will likely spot is the black bear; while black bears are characteristically shy you should be bear aware. If you’re lucky enough to spot one, never approach the bear.
