From there, choose from nearly two dozen ski resorts around the city including Alpe d’Huez, Les Deux Alpes, and La Grave—all less than 90 minutes away by car. Drive a little further and you will reach Courchevel, Megève, Méribel, Les Gets, Morzine and Les Houches. Don’t forego planning summer holidays to France as there’s much to do—hiking, biking and other warm-weather activities—in and around the French Alps as well as in most parts of the country.

Lyon
