What to see and do in Esperance ?
This region is rightly known for the beauty of its beaches, and in Esperance you’ll find a great way of enjoying a few hours on the sand. There are 4×4 tours available nearby, giving you a golden opportunity to savour an exciting and rugged ride along the undulating terrain. While most of us see the beach as a place at which to relax, sometime it can be fun to try your hand at something a little different instead.
One of the more quirky attractions in the area is the Esperance Stonehenge, a breath-taking life-size replica of the mystic ancient English landmark. Constructed from large stones, it’s well worth a visit if you are lucky enough to be staying nearby. You’ll find this impressive recreation some 15 kilometres east of the town centre on Merivale Road. If you’ve never visited the real Stonehenge, come to Esperance and experience the next best thing.
You will find a number of ocean cruises waiting to be enjoyed in Esperance. One of the more intriguing destinations is Woody Island, a picturesque location which lies to the south-east of the town. If you take the trip, be sure to try your hand at snorkelling while you’re on the island, because the waters are exceptionally clear. There are several impressive walks to be enjoyed here as well, so it’s a good idea to bring your walking shoes with you.
Western Australia is blessed with a large number of beautiful national parks, and the one at Cape Le Grand is particularly delightful.
