Children four years of age and older are allowed on the rafting trips. All trips include lunch and beverages. This is an excellent way to see a completely different side of Montego Bay.

Windsor Caves is one of Montego Bay, Jamaica’s hottest tourist attractions. The huge caves are accessible to experienced spelunkers, though other tourists are allowed up to the roped entry. Daring travelers can see huge bats hanging from the cave’s ceiling and stunning limestone rock formations. Windsor Caves boasts the country’s largest bat population and the bat guano is used at many of the plantations as fertilizer.

Shopping in Montego Bay

Harbour Street, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, features an open-air craft market, where locals come to sell their wares. Among the many varied offerings, you’ll find hand-made jewelry of beads and semi-precious stones, textile products, including clothing of varying style and quality, some of which are richly colored cottons and sturdy natural fibers. There are often hand carved, wooden household items and small wood sculptures, created by some of the island’s many skilled artisans.

For those who prefer a more upscale shopping atmosphere, Gloucester Avenue in Montego Bay is sure to satisfy. This busy thoroughfare hosts an eclectic blend of boutiques and strip malls, set amongst some of the best hotels and eating establishments on the island. Taj Mahal in Ocho Rios is a shopping mall built on a grand scale, featuring a variety of upscale products, and also offers some of the best coffees, rums, and cigars on the island. Kingston is one of the best places in Jamaica to buy quality artwork by some of the nation’s best artists. Frame Center Gallery and the Mutual Life Gallery are among the best known, and are recognized even beyond the island for the quality of art made available for viewing and purchase.

Best of Montego Bay

Take a break from reality and head off to the warm tropical shores of Montego Bay, Jamaica. The second largest city in the country, this coastal city is a little Caribbean haven. Nestled among low mountains, there’s something charming at every corner in this city. Stay close to the beach, get down and dirty with the local wildlife or cool down at a luxury spa. With tons of activities for you to do and great sights to take in, Montego Bay awaits.

There’s tons of colonial history for you to explore in Montego Bay. Take a trip out to some old sugar cane plantations and take in the grand architecture of these mini palaces. Finish off your fun filled day of activity by taking a guided horseback ride through the rustic countryside and white sandy beaches.

When you’re ready to pick up some goodies for yourself and friends back home, drop by Casa de Oro, famed for its luxury goods and tax free shopping. Or bring back some great Jamaican spices and herbs home with you from Herba Kadabra. After you’re done browsing for local goods, get ready to have the time of your life at one of Montego Bay’s lively bars and nightclubs. Dance the night away to some traditional reggae or find yourself some classic pop dance tunes in town.
