Kos is an island meant for an aquatic experience. The island itself is surrounded on all sides by smooth white sands and warm seawater for a perfect day at the beach. Get further out into the sea by renting a sailboat or trying your hand at windsurfing. Kos also has its two waterparks for visiting families to enjoy. Find the time to take a relaxing dip into Thermes, the island’s hot spring. In Kos, the water is never far behind you.

The island has a long and interesting history behind it, having passed through Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman hands. The island’s main archeological site is the Askeipion, which was a place of healing for the ancient Greeks and Romans. While at the ruins, make sure to see the temple dedicated to the god of healing. Also make sure to see the defensive structure that was once the main protection of the island, the Castle of the Knights of Saint John. The castle is right next to Kos Town, so you can take in the history and then head over to the town to experience some modern Greek life.

Kos Town has a number of great boutiques for you to visit on your stay. Whether you are looking for some local goods or the perfect souvenir, Kos Town’s Agora is your shopping destination. Kos has a great night scene for you to enjoy on your vacation. Start the evening off with a delicious meal of some traditional Greek cuisine in one of the seaside restaurants along the coast.
